contents <p><span lang="EN">This article examines the goals of physical education, which largely overlap with those of mass sports. However, sport involves systematic training and activities aimed at achieving specific results. Many young people begin participating in sports as amateurs during their school years, and master certain sports even before entering school. Sports are especially popular among students and other groups. The current physical education program at higher education institutions provides almost every student with the opportunity to participate in mass sports, both as part of their studies and in their free time, while the choice of sport or exercise program remains entirely up to the student. Despite economic challenges, thanks to the support of local authorities, there has been an increase in the number of sports clubs, the number of participants, and the number of coaches and qualified athletes. At the same time, for a number of reasons, Russia has become a significant source of personnel for the international sports community, actively exchanging experience and specialists.</span></p>
