contents <p>A taxonomic review of weevils of the genus Pseudalophus Suvorov, 1915 from Kazakhstan, Central Asia and northwest China is presented. Information is given for the examined type specimens from the genera Alophus Schoenherr, 1826 and Trichalophus LeCont, 1876 described by E.E. Ballion, E. Reitter and I. Faust. In total, 44 species are reviewed, including one species with three subspecies. All species previously belonging to the genus Trichalophus are transferred to Pseudalophus: P. arrogans (Faust, 1883), comb. n., P. boeberi (Schoenherr, 1826), comb. n., P. cinereus (Ballion, 1878), comb. n., P. eximius (Faust, 1885), comb. n., P. ferganensis (Reitter, 1913), comb. n., P. globicollis (Reitter, 1913), comb. n., P. humeralis (Gebler, 1834), comb. n., P. incarinatus (Reitter, 1913), comb. n., P. kashgarensis (Faust, 1887), comb. n., P. krauseanus (Bajtenov, 1975), comb. n., P. lentus (Faust, 1883), comb. n., P. lineatus (Gebler, 1841), comb. n., P. nigrofemoralis (Reitter, 1913), comb. n., P. pauperculus (Faust, 1885), comb. n., P. pubifer (Reitter, 1913), comb. n., P. quadrifasciatus (Faust, 1881), comb. n., P. regularis (Reitter, 1913), comb. n., P. setosus (Faust, 1883), comb. n., P. subcostatus (Ballion, 1878), comb. n., P. subnudus (Faust, 1885), comb. n., P. sulcirostris (Ballion, 1878), comb. n., P. vittatoides (Reitter, 1913), comb. n., P. vittatoides striola (Reitter, 1913), comb. n., P. vittatus (Faust, 1881), comb. n.<br>The following twenty new species and one subspecies of the genus Pseudoalophus are described: P. arnoldii sp. n., P. borisaxius sp. n., P. davidiani sp. n., P. edmundi sp. n., P. galinae sp. n., P. giganteus sp. n., P. grabantae sp. n., P. igori sp. n., P. ilyai sp. n., P. inops sp. n., P. jacobsoni sp. n., P. jaegeri sp. n., P. napolovi sp. n., P. ophthalmicus sp. n., P. pseudostriola sp. n., P. ruckbeilorum sp. n., P. semenovi sp. n., P. solodovnikovi sp. n., P. terminassianae sp. n., P. vladimiri sp. n., P. vittatoides dzhungaricus subsp. n.<br>The following new synonymy is established: Pseudalophus sulcirostris (Ballion, 1878), comb. n. = Trichalophus ocularis Reitter, 1913, syn. n.; Pseudalophus lineatus (Gebler, 1841), comb. n. = Alophus lituratus Faust, 1881, syn. n. = Trichalophus multivittatus Reitter, 1913, syn. n.; Pseudalophus subcostatus (Ballion, 1878), comb. n. = Alophus plausibilis Faust, 1887, syn. n. = Trichalophus inermis Reitter, 1913, syn. n. = Trichalophus juldusanus Reitter, 1913, syn. n. = Trichalophus lixomorphus Bajtenov, 1974, syn. n.; Pseudalophus pauperculus (Faust, 1885), comb. n. = Alophus inopinus Faust, 1894, syn. n.; Pseudalophus vittatus (Faust, 1881), comb. n. = Trichalophus latefasciatus Reitter, 1913, syn. n.<br>Pseudalophus setosus (Faust, 1883), sp. resurr. et comb. n. is resurrected from the junior synonyms of Trichalophus cinereus (Ballion, 1878). Pseudalophus pauperculus (Faust, 1885), sp. resurr. et comb. n. is resurrected from the junior synonyms of Trichalophus eximius (Faust, 1885).<br>Lectotypes are hereby designated for the following taxa: Trichalophus pubifer Reitter, 1913, Trichalophus inermis T. inermis Reitter, 1913, T. juldusanus Reitter, 1913, T. latefascitus Reitter, 1913, T. ocularis Reitter, 1913, T. vittatoides vittatoides Reitter, 1913, T. v. striola Reitter, 1913, Alophus setosus Faust, 1883, A. subcostatus Ballion, 1878, A. sulcirostris Ballion, 1878, A. lineatus Gebler, 1841, A. quadrifasciatus Faust, 1883, A. lentus Faust, 1883, A. inopinus Faust, 1894, A.arrogans Faust, 1883, A. ferganensis Reitter, 1913, A. globicollis Reitter, 1913 and A. vittatus Faust, 1881.<br>A key to 47 taxa is compiled in Russian and English.<br>The small complex of species from Eastern Siberia, the Russian Far East and North America is not included to the present review, because the systematics of this group requires an additional study. The following species were not included in the review: Trichalophus albonotatus (Motschulsky, 1860), T. hylobinus (LeConte, 1876), T. maklini (Faust, 1890), T. quadriguttatus (Gebler, 1829), T. rudis (Boheman, 1842), and T. pacatus (Faust, 1890).</p>
