  • <p>In this article is discussed the differences between the terms “mass communication” and “mass information”. Very often in the linguistic literature these two terms are used as identical concepts. But, one must take into account the fact that mass information is part of mass communication. Every communicant of this process is under the influence of the mass media, which entails the phenomenon as a mass communication.<br>Mass communication is wider in meaning. It also covers mass communication in its borders. The texts of the mass media have a number of features: the orientation toward the mass addressee and the desire for personification of communication; for them, novelty, personification, manipulativeness, dramaticness, relevance, replicability, dynamism and a guide to economic benefit are relevant. At the end of the article the results are summed up. The most distinctive properties of these two terms are indicated.</p>
