| contents | <h2><strong>The Bat Virome Archives – Redundant Contigs Resource</strong></h2> <h3><strong>Description</strong></h3> <p>This repository provides the <em>redundant contig set</em> generated during the construction of <strong>The Bat Virome Archives v1</strong>, a large-scale, uniformly processed collection of bat-associated viral metagenomes.</p> <p>While the main Bat Virome Archives dataset distributes a <strong>non-redundant representative contig set</strong> (clustered at 95% nucleotide identity over 85% coverage), this resource preserves <strong>all original contigs prior to dereplication</strong>, including sequence variants collapsed during clustering.</p> <p>The redundant contigs resource enables:</p> <ul> <li> <p>recovery of strain-level or intra-sample sequence diversity,</p> </li> <li> <p>inspection of assembly and clustering behaviour,</p> </li> <li> <p>validation of representative contigs,</p> </li> <li> <p>detailed coverage or variant analyses,</p> </li> <li> <p>re-clustering under alternative thresholds.</p> </li> </ul> <h3><strong>Contents</strong></h3> <p>The repository includes:</p> <ul> <li> <p>a FASTA file containing all redundant contigs,</p> </li> <li> <p>a mapping table linking each representative contig to the full list of contigs it represents,</p> </li> </ul> <h3><strong>Relationship to the main dataset</strong></h3> <p>This resource is complementary to <strong>The Bat Virome Archives v1</strong> Zenodo release.<br>Users interested in standard comparative analyses are encouraged to use the non-redundant contig set provided in the main dataset. This redundant resource is intended for advanced or exploratory analyses requiring access to uncollapsed sequence variants.</p> <h3><strong>Usage notes</strong></h3> <p>Due to its size, this dataset is intended for targeted analyses rather than routine use.
