We suggest that the scaling behavior of collective quantum modes—specifically the transition toward the fragmented limit (observed in simulations as α ≈ -1.1 to -1.4)—governs the capacity for a system to maintain coherent information states.</p> <p>By synthesizing the physics of the Dicke model with observations of microtubule dynamics and clinical anesthetic data, we hypothesize that the -1.36 scaling exponent may represent a characteristic threshold for information fragmentation. The framework explores a possible solution to the 'Binding Problem' by suggesting that consciousness corresponds to the coherent phase (α ≈ 0), which is maintained through biological mechanisms that tune the system away from the universal fragmentation threshold.</p> <p>This work investigates the proposition that information scaling, rather than specific substrate properties, is a fundamental governing principle across biological and synthetic scales.
