contents
The aim of the study was to determine the level of awareness among medical students regarding melanoma, its risk factors, and preventive measures, as well as to assess their attitudes toward skin self‑examination and the use of sunscreen. A total of 124 students participated in the survey, of whom only 38% correctly identified the main risk factors for melanoma, and 42% were aware of the prognostic significance of Breslow thickness. Regular skin self‑examination was practiced by only 27% of respondents, while 31% reported systematic use of sunscreen. The findings indicate insufficient knowledge and low adherence to preventive measures, highlighting the need for educational programs aimed at improving awareness among future healthcare professionals and fostering sustainable preventive behaviors.
