•
Speculation has long suggested that Sir Francis Drake may have deposited treasure on Oak Island during his global circumnavigation in the late 16th century. This paper evaluates historical records, maritime routes, and logistical feasibility to test this hypothesis. Through analysis of Drake’s known voyage timelines, Pacific and Atlantic navigation routes, and Oak Island’s geographical constraints, the evidence strongly indicates that Drake could not have accessed or utilized Oak Island as a treasure site. The findings reinforce alternative explanations for Oak Island’s historical function and demonstrate the importance of evidence-based historical investigation.
