- <p>This database "Host plant selection tool of pests affecting fruit-bearing vegetables in the EU" has been prepared to support the survey cards of pests affecting fruit-bearing vegetables. The pest survey cards are prepared in the context of EFSA’s mandate on plant pest surveillance (M-2020-0114) at the request of the European Commission. </p> <p>The preparation of both this database and the pest survey cards for pest affecting fruit-bearing vegetables was carried out within the framework of grant GP/EFSA/PLANTS/2022/10 - Lot 1.<br>The pest survey cards are available in the EFSA gallery: <a href="https://efsa.europa.eu/plants/planthealth/monitoring/surveillance/gallery">https://efsa.europa.eu/plants/planthealth/monitoring/surveillance/gallery</a></p> <p>In total, 28 EU regulated pests are included in the grant of pests affecting fruit bearing vegetables, and in particular: <br><em>Ceratothripoides claratris</em>, <em>Diabrotica undecimpunctata howardi</em>, <em>Diabrotica undecimpunctata undecimpunctata</em>, <em>Helicoverpa zea</em>, <em>Keiferia lycopersicella</em>, Lettuce infectious yellows virus, <em>Liriomyza bryoniae</em>, <em>Liriomyza huidobrensis</em>, <em>Liriomyza sativae</em>, <em>Liriomyza trifolii</em>, <em>Meloidogyne enterolobii</em>, Melon yellowing-associated virus, <em>Neoleucinodes elegantalis</em>, <em>Prodiplosis longifila</em>, <em>Ralstonia pseudosolanacearum</em>, <em>Spodoptera eridania</em>, Squash vein yellowing virus, <em>Thrips palmi,</em> Tomato chocolàte virus, Tomato marchitez virus, Tomato mild mottle virus, <em>Xiphinema americanum</em> sensu stricto, <em>Xiphinema bricolense</em>, <em>Xiphinema californicum</em>, <em>Xiphinema inaequale</em>, <em>Xiphinema intermedium</em>, <em>Xiphinema rivesi</em> (non-EU populations) and<em> Xiphinema tarjanense</em>.</p> <p>EFSA Question number: EFSA-Q-2024-00228</p> <p>EFSA Output number: EN-9904</p> <p>Last update: 22 January 2026</p>
