contents
This report investigates the “Mediation Mechanism” in technology-intensive sectors,
where the link between human capital and Operating Profit (EBIT) is mediated
by Research and Development (R&D). We argue that the modern tech firm operates
on a dual-logic: a Short-Cycle characterized by labor cost absorption and a Long-
Cycle characterized by an explosion in innovation-driven value. Using Maximum
Likelihood Estimation (MLE) and Clustered Bootstrap protocols, we quantify the
“Intelligence Rent” that maintains a stable premium over industrial baselines.
