contents <p>This study explores the development of an eco-friendly biodegradable packaging film using agro-waste materials: corn husk and banana pseudostem. With increasing environmental concerns over synthetic plastics, utilizing agricultural residues for packaging materials presents a sustainable alternative. The research focuses on extracting cellulose and bio-polymers from corn husk and banana pseudostem, and combining them to formulate a biodegradable film with desirable mechanical and barrier properties. Various physicochemical characterizations, including tensile strength, water vapor permeability, and biodegradability tests, were conducted to evaluate the film’s performance. The results indicate that the composite film exhibits adequate strength, flexibility, and rapid biodegradation, making it a promising substitute for conventional plastic packaging in food applications. This study not only provides a method to valorize agricultural waste, but also contributes to reducing environmental pollution from non-degradable packaging. The findings have potential applications in food packaging industries aiming for sustainability and circular economy practices.</p>
