contents
The standard model of particle physics and cosmology, though empirically successful, is nearing its explanatory horizon. Decades of searches for supersymmetry, grand unification, or elegant extensions have yielded no new particles or clear evidence of high-energy symmetries beyond the Standard Model.
In parallel, a shift is taking place across theoretical physics: the idea that symmetry is emergent, not fundamental. From quantum gravity and non-Hermitian dynamics to stochastic inflation and quantum information, many domains now explore frameworks where structure arises from context and asymmetry, not from the breaking of ideal vacua.
In this spirit, we present Informational Effective Field Theories (iEFTs) as a well-defined and numerically tractable class of models where:
• φ represents a field of coherence, not conventional matter;
• χ or Γ(t) encode decoherence, entropy, and time-asymmetry;
• Symmetry is not imposed, but emerges dynamically from system–environment coupling.
We emphasize: this is not a unified theory. It is a structural framework — an operational, falsifiable, data-compatible class of EFTs in which coherence and asymmetry replace spontaneous symmetry breaking as primary ingredients.
This perspective already underlies three independent models developed in previous work, now unified by a common language and formal structure. iEFTs are intended as a pragmatic advance, bridging the conceptual frontiers of field theory, cosmology, and quantum information, while remaining grounded in numerical simulation and empirical data.
