| contents | <p><b><i>Ustjuzhania lineata</i> (Walker, 1855a)</b></p><p>COMMON NAME(S): Veined Ermine.</p><p>SYNONYM(S): <i>Aloa simplex</i> Walker, 1855a; <i>Saenura alba</i> Wallengren, 1860; <i>Spilarctia puella</i> Druce, 1898.</p><p>IUCN STATUS: Not Evaluated (NE).</p><p>DISTRIBUTION: Angola, Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe.</p><p>LOCALITY IN ZAMBIA: Lusaka, in Lusaka Province; Chipata and Petauke, in Eastern Province.</p><p>LARVAL HOSTPLANT(S): A Passifloraceae species called <i>Passiflora quadrangularis</i> L. is a host plant of the taxon in South Africa (Fawcett 1901), while Pinhey (1975) reported a yet to be identified Asteraceae species (i.e. <i>Tagetes</i> sp.) as a host plant in unnamed African country or countries. The following are reported as larval foodplants of the taxon: one Amaryllidaceae species (<i>Hippeastrum</i> sp.), five Asteraceae species (<i>Aster</i> sp., <i>Cosmos</i> sp., <i>Zinnia</i> sp., <i>Tagetes minuta</i> L. and <i>T. erecta</i> L.), one Colchicaceae species (<i>Gloriosa superba</i> L. [Climbing lily, creeping lily, tiger claw, fire lily or gloriosa lily,.]), one Moraceae species (<i>Morus</i> sp.), one Nyctaginaceae species (<i>Boerhavia</i> sp.) and two species of passiom plant, passion flowers or passion vines namely, <i>Passiflora edulis</i> Sims and <i>P. quadrangularis</i> L.
