contents
The present data revealed insights of sediment textural characteristics and depositional phenomenon first time in the lentic ecosystem (freshwater lake) known as Kavaripakkam Lake located Ranipet district of Tamil Nadu, India. A total of 240 surface sediment samples were collected from 15 stations of 16 months across the lake. The results were further undergone in multiple factorial analyses such as spatial, temporal, seasonal, annual, sectors and banks to understand the depositional scenario of the lake. A serious sieve sets (both Richtech sieve shaker and Malvern Particle analyser) was used to distinguish sediment textural fractions of the collected sediment samples. The data set presented here with percentage contribution of each sieve retained sediment fractions and those were further analysed statistically using GRADISTAT v8.
