- <p>These data support a manuscript accepted for publication in <em>Ecology and Evolution</em> (in press).</p> <p>Dataset description<br>This dataset contains transect-based observations of all tree individuals ≥ 50 cm tall recorded in burned tropical peat swamp forests on the Kampar Peninsula, Sumatra, Indonesia.</p> <p>Sampling design<br>Data were collected along 34 transects (100 × 10 m) across two post-fire restoration sites (Makmur and Sangar) in 2025.</p> <p>Variables<br>The dataset includes species identity, site, size measurements, and establishment classification for strangler fig individuals, together with records of hosts for epiphytic establishment.</p> <p>Purpose<br>These data support the analyses and results presented in the article:<br><em>Terrestrial establishment of strangler figs in burned tropical peat swamp forests, Sumatra, Indonesia.</em></p> <p>Contact<br>Corresponding author: Douglas Sheil.</p>
