contents
This paper presents Yellowstone National Park’s hydrothermal systems as a macroscopic
natural analogy for the behavior of the space‑phase substrate proposed in the SP3
framework. Yellowstone contains over 10,000 hydrothermal features driven by heat from a
deep magmatic system, including geysers, hot springs, mudpots, and fumaroles. The
Yellowstone system demonstrates three core principles central to SP3: (1) substrate
saturation and release, (2) installation of transport corridors (plumbing pathways), and (3)
episodic versus continuous release governed by structural constraints. The Yellowstone
analogy provides a concrete visualization of how invisible underlying substrate
conditioning can guide visible manifestations, analogous to SP3 corridor‑guided matter and
radiation transport.
