BUILDING FINANCIAL DASHBOARD TOWARDS BETTER MANAGEMENT OF PROFITABILITY FOR BANKS AND NON-BANK FINANCIAL ORGANIZATIONS

| contents | <p><span lang="EN-US">Banking industry and non-bank financial organizations are matured to a great extent than in earlier periods. It has developed a tremendous image in its various activities including using the core banking system software. Now advanced banking technologies have been launched in each area of banking operations. Like many other developing countries, Bangladesh is not legged behind in using core banking system software for daily banking operations. Banks and non-bank financial organizations of Bangladesh presently use different web-based core banking system software and other account management tools for storing daily business transactions. But analyzing different core banking software and other account management tools, it comes to the observation that, the existing systems used in financial sectors are transactional only. Those system features are not analytical somehow. The managers and top management of the organizations are not benefited from the systems for making analytical decisions.</span></p> <p><span lang="EN-US">Considering the scenarios, building a financial dashboard for managers and top management of Banks and non-bank financial organizations is one of the most demanded and latest features in the banking sector of Bangladesh for better management of profitability. </span></p> <p><span lang="EN-US">This paper tried to unearth the present status, prospects, and future challenges of using a financial dashboard in the banking sector of Bangladesh and demonstrate the building process of a web-based financial dashboard. Considering the importance of the financial dashboard this study was taken up. The main aim of this study was to build a web-based financial dashboard to facilitate the managers and top management of banks and non-bank financial organizations for making analytical decisions with the help of the dashboard.<span> </span>The major objectives of this study were to evaluate the present conditions of the existing core banking system software and other account management tools used in the financial sector of Bangladesh and identify the drawbacks and provide probable solutions with the help of a financial dashboard. The study found large expansion attempts in core banking system software in the banking industry of Bangladesh where analytical tools and features are ignored. The importance of financial dashboards is not taken into consideration. By the dashboard, managers and top management of the organization can make the right decision at the right time and can increase profitability and prohibit the incurred loss for making the wrong decision.<span> </span>The private commercial and foreign commercial banks have been performing well than those state-owned commercial banks regarding core banking system software in Bangladesh. Based on the study, it can be stated that the banking industry of Bangladesh is moving forward to the age of automation of banking activities with the help of advanced technological facilities. </span></p> |
