contents
Biochemical analyses indicated a slight elevation in NA and a tendency toward reduced 5-HT under ED conditions, reflecting an imbalance in neuromodulatory regulation during retinal pathology. During nR stimulation, 5-HT levels increased significantly in the analyzed structures, accompanied by a modest decrease in NA. Conversely, LC stimulation elicited a pronounced rise in NA concentration, whereas changes in 5-HT were minimal. These findings suggest that nR stimulation primarily engages the serotonergic system, consistent with observed enhancements in EEG coherence and network synchronization, whereas LC activation predominantly drives noradrenergic signaling, accounting for the observed spectral changes, including suppression of delta rhythms and emergence of theta- and alpha-band activity.
