contents
The rapid and sustained economic growth of the People’s Republic of China represents one of the most significant phenomena in the contemporary global economy. This study aims to provide a comprehensive explanation of China’s distinctive development model, which diverges from classical liberal economic theories and the conventional framework of the Washington Consensus. The research examines China’s economic rise through the interaction between institutional mechanisms and deeply embedded cultural paradigms. The methodological framework combines institutional economics, historical-comparative analysis, and cultural interpretation. The findings demonstrate that China’s economic success is rooted in the integration of the developmental state model with adaptive property-rights arrangements, fiscal decentralization, and Confucian ethical principles promoting meritocracy, discipline, and educational commitment. The interaction between institutional flexibility and cultural continuity has enabled China to achieve sustained competitiveness in global markets while preserving economic sovereignty.
