contents
Public health surveillance systems are critical for monitoring vector-borne diseases such as malaria in Kenya. However, their efficiency and effectiveness need to be evaluated systematically. Panel data from multiple years will be analysed to estimate the performance of surveillance systems. Efficiency ratios will be calculated, with robust standard errors accounting for within-system correlations. The analysis revealed significant variations in system performance across different regions, indicating a need for tailored interventions to enhance efficiency. Public health surveillance systems in Kenya exhibit varying degrees of efficiency, necessitating systematic improvements and targeted support. Regional-specific assessments should be conducted to identify areas requiring intervention. Additionally, continuous monitoring is recommended to ensure sustained improvement. Treatment effect was estimated with $\text{logit}(p_i)=\beta_0+\beta^\top X_i$, and uncertainty reported using confidence-interval based inference.
