English description:

This 1963 text explores the concept of a "new interpretation" of Christian faith within the context of a radically transformed, non-religious historical situation. The author critically reflects on the ideas of Rudolf Bultmann and Dietrich Bonhoeffer, emphasizing that the modern process of secularization is not an external threat to faith, but a challenge to discover its authentic, non-religious form. A central question concerns the norm and object of interpretation: whether it should be the kerygma, the historical Jesus, or the current experience of faith. The author argues that the goal is not merely to update archaic terms, but to reach the underlying reality from which the life of faith emerges. This endeavor requires abandoning traditional metaphysical frameworks and developing creative intellectual work at the intersection of theology and philosophy. The "new interpretation" is thus presented as a fundamental task that must engage with modern thought to open new perspectives in the history of human spirit.
