  • <div>MC-2, titled Diacria, is the second sectional chart in the Atlas of Martian Geography, the visual companion to Encyclopedia of Martian Geography (Thomas Gangale, JSD). This high-resolution map covers the Diacria quadrangle region of Mars (approximately 30°–65°N latitude, 120°–180°W longitude), rendered using USGS Mars Global Surveyor Mars Orbiter Laser Altimeter (MGS MOLA) global color shaded relief data at ~463 m/pixel resolution.The chart centers on the classical albedo feature Diacria—a prominent dark marking in 19th- and early 20th-century telescopic observations, often depicted as a continental or highland region adjacent to the Tharsis bulge and Arcadia Planitia.
