| contents |
The relevance of the topic lies in the fact that in the context of dynamically changing foreign and domestic political situations, there is a need to study new factors that influence the attitude of citizens to the actions of political actors and decisions taken. One of these factors is the consolidation of Russian society, caused by the return of Crimea and Sevastopol to the Russian Federation in 2014 (the Crimean consensus) and four historical regions (the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions) in 2022 (the Donbass consensus. The phenomena of this consolidation and its significance have been repeatedly discussed in the expert community, backing up their words with the results of mass sociological surveys. But research on the influence of the Crimean and Donbass consensuses on electoral behavior is limited to one article, in which the authors note the electoral effect in the 2022 elections of heads of constituent entities of the Russian Federation in 15 regions, elections of deputies of legislative bodies in 14 constituent entities, and elections of Councils of Deputies in Moscow municipalities.
This article provides a comparative analysis of the electoral activity and rating of V.V. Putin, as well as the ruling party "United Russia" in several subsequent federal elections - before the return of Crimea and Sevastopol to the Russian Federation in 2014 and after, as well as before the return of the four historical regions of Novorossiya to Russia and after their incorporation into the Russian Federation. This analysis allows us to conclude that both consensuses (Crimean and Donbass) have a noticeable influence on the electoral behavior of Russian citizens.
|
