| contents | <h1><span lang="en-GB">Abstract</span></h1> <p><span lang="en-GB">Among the three factors of Z₁₂₀ = Z₃ × Z₅ × Z₈, the factor Z₈ is unique in exhibiting what we term </span><span lang="en-GB"><strong>functional chirality</strong></span><span lang="en-GB">: it acts as an </span><span lang="en-GB"><strong>expansion operator</strong></span><span lang="en-GB"> in temporal biological domains (extending the Z₁₅ period by a factor of 8, producing the observed 120-day erythrocyte lifespan) and simultaneously as a </span><span lang="en-GB"><strong>contraction operator</strong></span><span lang="en-GB"> in algebraic and spectral domains (contributing −1/8 to the spectral invariant </span>η<span lang="en-GB"> = 49/120, compressing the Clifford structure to 8 units). The product of these dual actions satisfies 8 × (1/8) = 1, revealing an invariance principle that we call the </span><span lang="en-GB"><strong>Z₈ duality</strong></span><span lang="en-GB">. This duality generates a new falsifiable prediction: pathologies altering the temporal action of Z₈ (e.g. haemolytic anaemias, erythrocyte lifespan < 120 days) must be accompanied by a compensatory structural perturbation of opposite sign in the Clifford/meiotic pathway.
