- <p>This study explores the critical factors influencing users' perceptions of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems implementation among Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Ghana. As ERP systems become increasingly prevalent in businesses of all sizes, understanding the implications of user perceptions on implementation success is crucial. This research aims to examine key variables in the ERP implementation process that influence user perception, determine the consequences of these perceptions, and identify strategies for driving positive user attitudes. This study employs a qualitative exploratory research design, utilizing in-depth interviews with 20 participants (10 SME owners and 10 employees) from various SMEs in Ghana. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify common themes and patterns in respondents' experiences and perceptions. Key findings reveal that system functionality and usability, comprehensive training programs, effective communication, management support, and employee involvement in decision-making are critical factors influencing user perceptions of ERP systems. The study also highlights that positive perceptions lead to increased efficiency, improved decision-making, and enhanced collaboration, while negative perceptions result in increased stress, difficulties in system usage, and resistance to change.<br>This research contributes to the existing body of knowledge on ERP implementation in SMEs, particularly in the context of developing economies like Ghana. The findings provide valuable insights for SME owners, managers, and IT professionals involved in ERP implementation projects, offering practical strategies to enhance user acceptance and maximize the benefits of ERP systems.</p>
