Likewise, this tendency is carried in our social and political mechanisms, by our urge to comprehend the credibility of information, analyse it and bring it to a conclusion. This present study is also an endeavour to expand our information plus our knowledge about one of the most enabling instruments of the public in that regard – The Right to Information Act 2002. This document has taken numerous secondary sources ranging from journals articles, newspapers like the Hindu and Economic Times as data for this study. In this paper a non-doctoral procedure has been given precedence with the document being divided into three sections so to answer a question of due importance- why the enabling instrument caused to be a failed legislation. The first part would provide a succinct brief of the nature, types and importance of information in our daily lives. As we Proceed further, we would provide a skim over the public mobilisations that defined information movements in Indian and around the world. In the end a detailed warranted analysis has been afforded about the effects of Right to Information Act on Information dissimilation and the reasons of its abject failure in current years with suggestions of implementable improvements in the Act and polices, therefore to reach its past standing.
