contents <p><strong><em><span>Abstract</span></em></strong></p> <p><em><span>The Indian education system has undergone a substantial transformation from the earliest Gurukul tradition to the global and digital learning environment. Ancient Indian education emphasized holistic development, moral values, teacher–student relationships, and experiential learning, primarily imparted through the Gurukul system. Over time, changes in socio-economic background, foreign influence, globalization, and technological developments have reformed the structure, objectives, and delivery of education in India. This researcher wants to examine the evolution of the Indian educational system by comparing the theoretical foundations, educational methodologies, curriculum frameworks, and educational objectives of historical and contemporary educational paradigms. In addition, the researcher also wants to analyse the influence of digital technologies, globalization, and policy reforms such as the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 on modern educational practices. The researcher has adapted a analytical approach to study changes in educational values, inclusiveness, accessibility, and skill orientation.<span>  </span>Today’s education system succeeds in technological integration but fails to improve accessibility and employability.<span>  </span>ethics, value-based learning, and holistic development. The study concludes that integration of traditional wisdom with modern digital tools can contribute to a more inclusive, effective, and sustainable education system in India.</span></em></p>
