| contents | <p><span>On 6th November 2025 around 60 people attended the first </span><span>“Getting Going with Health Impact Assessment”</span><span> knowledge translation event across the island of Ireland was held in University College Cork (UCC). The event was hosted as part of the </span><span>TRANSLATE-HIA</span><span> project, funded by the Health Research Board (grant no. KTA-2024-009) and co-hosted between the School of Public Health and ISS21, UCC. TRANSLATE-HIA is sharing findings from the </span><a href="https://www.ucc.ie/en/iss21/researchprojects/researchprojects/hia-im/" rel="noopener">HIA-IM</a> <span>research project where a HIA implementation model is being created using an action research design and implementation science frameworks applied to the conduct of two HIAs on two policies, namely the Cork City Development Plan (2022-2028) and the Climate Action Plan (2024).</span></p> <p><span>The morning session included presentations from expert speakers, followed by a roundtable discussion. In the afternoon a World Café was held, facilitated by TRANSLATE-HIA team members. Contributions from the World Café will inform the upcoming “Getting Going with HIA” Informational Resource. Following the event all participants were invited to complete a </span><span>Post Event Survey.</span><span> 14 participants completed the survey. Ethical approval was obtained from UCC Social Research Ethics Committee: Log no. 2025-182. Both projects are led by Monica O’Mullane (PI), with Tara Kenny, postdoctoral researcher on HIA-IM, and Eibhlín Looney, Research Assistant on TRANSLATE-HIA.</span></p> |
