  • <p>GranuloGraph is a comprehensive open-source desktop application for granulometric (grain-size) analysis of sediments, developed in Python 3.11+ with a Tkinter-based graphical user interface. The software implements two distinct calculation methodologies to support both research sedimentology and engineering geology workflows:</p> <p>• ASTM D6913 (Recovered Weight method): Percentages calculated based on total recovered mass after sieving, recommended for sedimentological research, journal submissions, and Folk & Ward (1957) statistical analysis.</p> <p>• NF P 94-056 / ISO 17892-4 (Initial Weight method): Percentages calculated based on initial dry mass before sieving, standard for geotechnical engineering reports in Algeria, France, and other regions following European norms.</p> <p>Key Features:<br>- Interactive data entry with real-time validation (descending sieve order, recovery checks)<br>- Import/export support for CSV, Excel (.xlsx), and text files (including European semicolon-delimited format)<br>- Calculation of Folk & Ward (1957) statistical parameters: graphic mean (Mz), inclusive graphic standard deviation (σI), skewness (Sk), kurtosis (KG), and mode with parabolic refinement<br>- Geotechnical indices per ASTM D2487 and BS EN 12620: uniformity coefficient (Cu), curvature coefficient (Cc), fineness modulus (FM) with engineering interpretations<br>- Interactive visualization: cumulative passing curves on semi-logarithmic scale with ISO 14688-1:2017 grain size classification (Clay, Silt, Sand, Gravel, Cobbles, Boulders)<br>- Specialized sedimentological diagrams: Friedman (1967) environmental discrimination plots (beach vs. river sands) and Passega & Byramjee (1969) C-M diagrams for transport mechanism analysis<br>- Multi-sample comparison with color-coded overlay and correlation matrix generation<br>- Export to publication-quality formats: PNG/PDF graphs (150-600 DPI), CSV results tables, and comprehensive PDF reports</p> <p>Validation: GranuloGraph was validated against manual Excel calculations and Gradistat Excel using 15 geological samples from Algeria spanning Cretaceous to Quaternary ages.
