This is especially true in the years leading up to the age of five. It is essential for children to consume an adequate amount of food when they are young in order to ensure their growth, cognitive development, and immune system strengthening. In spite of this, malnutrition continues to be a serious problem in the field of public health, particularly in developing countries. In these countries, factors such as poverty, inadequate food consumption, poor eating habits, and limited access to medical treatment all contribute to unfavorable nutritional outcomes. Regarding the ways in which the dietary status of children under the age of five influences their growth and development. It is possible to utilize either a descriptive or crosssectional design for research projects that involve children aged 0 to 5 years old and are conducted in specific community or hospital settings. An individual's nutritional status can be established by utilizing anthropometric measurements such as height, weight, and the mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC). On the other hand, developmental milestones can be evaluated by employing methodologies that are standardized. It should be clear from the findings that children who do not receive adequate nutrition are more likely to experience a variety of health issues, such as being underweight, experiencing delayed cognitive development, experiencing stunted growth, and contracting infections. Malnutrition, which encompasses both undernutrition and deficiencies in micronutrients, can lead to difficulties in learning, productivity, and overall health over time. Additionally, malnutrition can cause problems with general health.</p> |
