contents <p><b><i>Finger obscurus</i> sp. nov.</b></p><p>Fig. 9</p><p><b>Diagnosis.</b> This species has an epigyne similar to that in <i>Finger chitato</i> Wesołowska & Wiśniewski 2023 from Angola but may be distinguished by the clearly longer seminal ducts—compare Fig. 9E with fig. 2C in Wesołowska & Wiśniewski (2023). The initial part of seminal ducts is very wide, as in other members of the genus <i>Finger</i>.</p><p><b>Etymology.</b> The specific name is Latin, meaning ‘dark’ and refers to the spider’s coloration.</p><p><b>Type material.</b> Holotype, ♀: <b>C.A.R., Dzanga-Sangha S.R., Camp 1, prospection à proximité de l'Ayous (<i>Triplochiton scleroxylon</i>)</b>, 3°3'58.28"N, 16°8'59.60"E, alt. 528m, sous-bois forêt, 18 Oct. 2008, nuit.</p><p><b>Description.</b> Male unknown.</p><p>Female: Dimensions. Cephalothorax length 1.6, width 1.3, height 0.8. Eye field length 0.7, anterior width 1.3, posterior width 1.2. Abdomen length 1.9, width 1.3. General appearance as in Fig. 9A. Carapace high, dark brown, anterior median eyes two times larger than anterior laterals, eyes of first row encircled by white setae. Some white setae on carapace. Chelicerae unidentate. Mouthparts and sternum dark brown. Abdomen oval, greyish-brown, clothed in brown setae. Venter dirty beige with two darker lines. Spinnerets brownish. Legs brown, basal parts of metatarsi slightly lighter. Tibia of leg I with four pairs of long spines and scale-like setae on ventral surface, metatarsus with two long ventral pairs of spines (Fig. 9B). Epigyne very small, weakly sclerotized, with two posterior cavities (Fig. 9C–D). Internal structure as in Fig. 9E, copulatory openings placed posteriorly on edges of cavities, seminal ducts membranous, very broad initially, forming loose loop before entering small capsular spermathecae. Paired pouches at posterior border of epigyne.</p><p><b>Distribution.</b> Known only from C.A.R., the Dzanga-Sangha Special Reserve.</p><p><b>Natural history.</b> The only specimen having been found active in the understory at night.</p>
