contents <p><b><i>Pancorius yangming</i> sp. nov.</b></p><p>Figures 2, 3, 5</p><p><b>Type material.</b> <b>Holotype:</b> ♂, <b>CHINA</b>, <b><i>Hunan Province</i>:</b> Yongzhou City, Shuangpai County, Yangmingshan National Forest Part, 26.08113°N, 111.90441°E, 732.76 m alt., 22 Aug. 2025, X.J. Peng <i>et al.</i> leg. (HNU-YMS-2502-a). <b>Paratypes:</b> 2♂ 2♀ (HNU-YMS-2502-b-1–4), same data as holotype.</p><p><b>Etymology.</b> The specific name comes from the type locality: Yangmingshan National Forest Part; noun in apposition.</p><p><b>Diagnosis.</b> The male of the new species resembles <i>P. hainanensis</i> Song & Chai, 1991 (Wang & Li 2023, fig. 15A–C) in having a short, stout embolus and a single RTA with a pointed tip, but can be distinguished by: 1) the RTA longer than tibia in retrolateral view (Fig. 3C), while shorter than half tibia in <i>P. hainanensis</i> (fig. 15B); 2) the embolus straight with digitiform tip in ventral view (Fig. 3B), while slightly curved retrolaterally with pointed tip in <i>P. hainanensis</i> (fig. 15A); 3) the posterior tegular lobe curved prolaterally (Fig. 3B), while slightly curved retrolaterally in <i>P. hainanensis</i> (fig. 15A).</p><p>The female of this species resembles <i>P. altus</i> Kanesharatnam & Benjamin, 2021 (Kanesharatnam & Benjamin, 2021, figs 19d, h, 20h–j) in having the central epigynal pocket, two posterior copulatory openings and short copulatory ducts, but can be easily distinguished by: 1) the copulatory openings level with epigynal pocket (Fig. 3A), while distinctly above epigynal pocket in <i>P. altus</i> (fig. 20h, i); 2) the spermathecae transverse and closely apposed (Fig. 3E), while longitudinal and spaced farther apart (fig. 20j).</p><p><b>Description. Male</b> (holotype) (Figs 2A, B, 3A–C): Total length 6.71; carapace 3.50 long, 2.82 wide; abdomen 3.16 long, 1.99 wide. Eye sizes and interdistances: AME 0.79, ALE 0.45, PME 0.15, PLE 0.40. AME–AME 0.09, AME–ALE 0.08, PME–PME 1.94, PME–PLE 0.35, AERW 2.39, PERW 2.24, EFL 1.69. Clypeus height 0.28. Leg measurements: I, 7.01 (2.21, 2.87, 1.15, 0.78); II, 6.05 (2.17, 2.21, 1.03, 0.64); III, 7.77 (2.61, 2.94, 1.14, 1.08); IV, 6.47 (2.33, 2.44, 1.12, 0.58). Leg formula: 3142. Carapace dark brown, with irregular yellow area on posterior part; fovea red brown, longitudinal. Chelicerae dark red brown, with two promarginal teeth and one retromarginal tooth. Endites dark brown, paler on inner margins, broadened distally. Labium concolorous with endites. Sternum yellow to light brown, shield shaped, longer than wide. Abdomen oval, dorsum brown, bearing wide longitudinal, median light band with posteromedian serrated margins, and with two pairs of median muscular depressions; venter yellow, with three longitudinal, discontinuous, dark patches. Spinneret yellowish brown.</p><p>Palp (Figs 3A–C). Tibia almost as long as wide in retrolateral view, with generally straight but slightly curved inward distally retrolateral apophysis, terminal part strongly sclerotized; tegulum slightly swollen with welldeveloped posterior lobe; embolus arises from anteroprolateral portion of tegulum, straight, slightly broadened distally and with rather blunt end.</p><p><b>Female</b> (HNU-YMS-2502-b-1) (Figs 2C, D, 3D, E): Total length 7.53; carapace 3.33 long, 2.86 wide; abdomen 3.99 long, 2.73 wide. Eye sizes and interdistances: AME 0.76, ALE 0.44, PME 0.12, PLE 0.41. AME–AME 0.08, AME–ALE 0.11, PME–PME 2.05, PME–PLE 0.37, AERW 2.36, PERW 2.19, EFL 1.61. Clypeus height 0.21. Leg measurements: I, 6.52 (2.16, 2.66, 0.99, 0.71); II, 6.03 (2.00, 2.42, 0.93, 0.68); III, 7.80 (2.87, 2.67, 1.39, 0.87); IV, 7.48 (2.48, 2.55, 1.61, 0.84). Leg formula: 3412. Coloration pattern similar to male, except chelicerae, endites and labium paler.</p><p>Epigyne (Figs 3D, E). Epigynal plate wider than long; copulatory openings slit-shaped; M-shaped epigynal pocket situated medially; copulatory ducts short, partly visible in dorsal view; spermathecae bean-shaped in dorsal view; fertilization ducts anterolaterally extended.</p><p><b>Distribution.</b> Known only from the type locality (Fig. 5).</p><p><b>GenBank accession number.</b> Holotype (HNU-YMS-2502-a): PX666018; paratype (HNU-YMS-2502-b-1): PX666019.</p>
