contents
We introduce a galaxy-level outer amplitude diagnostic (A_out) to quantify rotation-curve anomalies in disk galaxies using the SPARC dataset.

We find a strong monotonic anti-correlation between A_out and outer baryonic acceleration (Spearman ρ ≈ −0.85), robust under multiple null tests and alternative baryonic modelling pipelines.

The effect is amplitude-dominated (outer-region), rather than shape-dominated, and persists across independent surveys (SPARC, THINGS, LITTLE THINGS, GHASP), with consistent trend direction but non-universal normalization.

These results provide evidence that outer amplitude variations represent a significant empirical feature of galaxy rotation curves, and place new constraints on galaxy dynamics models.
