contents
Data for: A transferable framework for distributed BECCS offers prioritized deployability across geographies and policy contexts

Description:
This dataset provides the underlying data and spatial mapping files supporting the manuscript "A transferable framework for distributed BECCS offers prioritized deployability across geographies and policy contexts" (submitted to One Earth). The research investigates the cost-effective mitigation and durable geological CO2 storage potential of waste-based biomethane-CCS systems in China.

The dataset includes:

1. plants_information.csv: A comprehensive dataset containing plant-level operational and geographical information for distributed biomethane-CCS facilities across China. It details facility locations (longitude/latitude), regional distributions, annual biomethane production, distances to geological storage, along with key environmental and economic assessment metrics (e.g., E_CDR, E_Net, E_Mit, and average mitigation costs).

2. biomethane_map.tif spatial data: High-resolution spatial mapping generated within the deployability-constrained framework, visualizing the geographical distribution of resources and potential BECCS deployment sites.

For more detailed information regarding the methodology, framework constraints, and data interpretation, please refer to the main manuscript and its Supplementary Information.
