contents <div> <div> <div> <div> <p>TORCH infections, including Toxoplasmosis, Other infections (such as syphilis), Rubella, Cytomegalovirus, and Herpes simplex virus, are among the leading causes of congenital anomalies, neonatal morbidity, and perinatal complications worldwide. Early and accurate diagnosis is critical for maternal and fetal health, as delayed detection can result in severe neurodevelopmental disorders or pregnancy loss. Serological methods, particularly enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), immunofluorescence assays, and agglutination tests, remain the cornerstone of TORCH diagnosis due to their high sensitivity, specificity, cost-effectiveness, and feasibility in clinical practice. Detection of IgM antibodies indicates recent maternal infection, whereas IgG antibodies and avidity testing help differentiate past from acute infections. This review highlights the principles, diagnostic accuracy, and clinical relevance of serological testing in TORCH infections and emphasizes the need for integrated prenatal screening programs to reduce adverse perinatal outcomes.</p> </div> </div> </div> </div>
