| contents | <p><strong><em><span>Abstract</span></em></strong></p> <p><em><span>The cooperative sector in India has emerged as a powerful instrument for inclusive growth, rural development, and socio-economic empowerment. Recent years have witnessed transformative changes driven by policy reforms, digitalization, structural diversification, and institutional strengthening. The establishment of the Ministry of Cooperation and the introduction of the National Cooperative Policy 2025–2045 have provided a structured roadmap for governance reforms, financial sustainability, and technological integration. Large-scale computerization of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) and expansion into emerging sectors such as fisheries, organic farming, renewable energy, and digital services have enhanced operational efficiency and employment opportunities. Despite challenges related to governance, financial viability, and digital literacy, the sector shows strong potential to contribute significantly to national development. This study examines recent trends, evaluates their socio-economic impact, and highlights future directions for sustainable cooperative growth.</span></em></p> <div> <p> </p> </div> |
