The literature highlights a variety of</div> <div>strategic planning methods applicable to basic sanitation, including, most prominently in the</div> <div>Web of Science, SWOT analysis, BCG Matrix, Pestel Analysis, Balanced Scorecard, OKR and</div> <div>Scenario Analysis. These tools allow for a holistic and integrated assessment of the challenges</div> <div>faced by the sector, identifying strengths to be leveraged, weaknesses to be mitigated,</div> <div>opportunities to be exploited and threats to be faced. The effective application of strategic</div> <div>planning tools in basic sanitation requires an adaptive and flexible approach which considers</div> <div>local specificities, climate change, demographic trends. In short, the literature review highlights</div> <div>the fundamental role of strategic planning in improving basic sanitation, providing an analytical</div> <div>and methodological framework for tackling the complex challenges associated with the sector,</div> <div>mainly via systemic and integrated approaches.</div> <div> </div> |
