| contents | <p class="MsoNormal">The Tunisian-British Wheat Genomics Week was a five-day international training and scientific exchange event held in Tunisia from 13 to 17 March 2023. Organised jointly by Prof. Moez Hanin of the Centre of Biotechnology of Sfax (CBS) and the John Innes Centre (JIC, UK), the workshop brought together leading wheat genomics researchers from the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Japan, and Tunisia to share cutting-edge knowledge and practical skills with Tunisian scientists. The programme covered the full breadth of modern wheat genomics, from high-throughput genotyping and reference genome resources through to QTL mapping, GWAS, functional genomics, speed breeding, and CRISPR-based genome editing. The event was structured as a half-day opening symposium in Tunis, followed by four days of lectures and hands-on practical sessions at the Higher Institute of Biotechnology, University of Sfax. Through this initiative, participating researchers gained direct access to state-of-the-art genomic tools and datasets, new collaborative links, and a roadmap for applying genomics to wheat improvement in Tunisia.</p> |
