contents
This article explores the identification of national-cultural specifics in the structure of conceptual meaning, focusing on the concept of courage. Drawing on cognitive linguistics and cultural studies, the paper examines how universal meanings interact with culturally specific elements in shaping conceptual understanding. Special attention is given to the Uzbek cultural context, where courage is interpreted not only as physical bravery but also as moral strength, patience, and spiritual resilience. The study analyzes linguistic representations such as proverbs and cultural narratives, and provides a comparative perspective between Uzbek and English interpretations of courage. The findings demonstrate that while the core of the concept remains universal, its peripheral meanings are deeply influenced by historical, social, and religious factors.
