| contents | <p class="text-size-chat leading-relaxed extension:leading-normal my-2">This replication package provides the code, configuration files, documentation, and reference outputs needed to reproduce the tables and figures reported in Tuition Resets and Public Net Price paper. The analysis uses public IPEDS Access Database releases to study tuition resets at private nonprofit four-year institutions, focusing on posted tuition, institutional grants, published net price by income band, support-overlap designs, treatment-history validation, and related robustness checks.</p> <p class="text-size-chat leading-relaxed extension:leading-normal my-2">The package is designed for end-to-end replication from raw public data. Raw IPEDS files are not redistributed. Users must manually download the required IPEDS Access Database ZIP archives from NCES and place them in the documented input folder. Once those files are in place, the included pipeline stages the archives, extracts the required tables, constructs the analytic panels, identifies tuition reset events, estimates the models, generates all tables and figures, and validates generated outputs against the included reference outputs.</p> <p class="text-size-chat leading-relaxed extension:leading-normal my-2">The archive also includes frozen reference tables and figures, a results map linking paper artifacts to generated files, data-provenance documentation, software setup instructions, and a validation script. A bundled validation mode is provided for checking package integrity without rebuilding from raw IPEDS files; the full replication mode performs the complete computational workflow after the required public data files are supplied.</p> <p class="text-size-chat leading-relaxed extension:leading-normal my-2">The package excludes manuscript drafts, paper-version materials, raw IPEDS archives, extracted IPEDS tables, and processed IPEDS panels. Its purpose is to provide a clean, self-contained replication archive that supports transparent verification of the published empirical results while respecting redistribution limits on the underlying public-use data files.</p> |
