-
Resolving informational ambiguityor bivalenceis a central challenge for any cognitive
system, whether individual, collective, cellular, or algorithmic. We propose a universal mas-
ter equationa fractional stochastic integro-dierential equation on a Riemannian mani-
foldthat unies descriptions of this process from statistical physics, information geometry,
quantum mechanics, evolutionary biology, and control theory. Each term of the equation is
analyzed, and its necessity is established via a proof by contradiction: omitting any single
term leads to a contradiction with well-established empirical facts in at least one scientic
discipline. This formalism provides a universal grammar of interpretation and oers tools for
understanding and correcting interpretive failures, from political polarization and medical
diagnostic errors to biases in articial intelligence.
