| contents | <p class="MsoNormal"><em><span>The health and occupational health concerns of tobacco workers in Karnataka's Nippani Taluk, Belgaum District, are examined in the current study. The research included 825 respondents, of which 480 were males (58.18%) and 345 were women (41.82%), indicating that both sexes actively participate in tobacco processing works.<span> </span>According to the findings, 24.36% of employees suffer from tobacco addiction, with men experiencing a somewhat higher frequency (26.25%) than women (21.73%). The easy access to smoke at work is one of the factors causing this addiction. Despite the fact that many workers have minor health issues including cough, back pain, and hand pain, an evaluation of general health status shows that most employees think their health is satisfactory, with 44% rating "very good" and 34.18% reporting "good." Even though more than 93% of workers are aware of the risks to their health at work, they continue in this profession due to economic dependence. The study found that blood pressure and age are associated, with 46.06% of workers having hypertension, particularly those between the ages of 46 and 60. Low back pain, hand weakness, headaches, dyspnea, and tooth difficulties are common health complaints that emphasize the occupational health dangers connected to tobacco processing work.</span></em></p> |
