contents
This work explores a conceptual reinterpretation of spacetime geometry within general relativity, proposing that curvature may be viewed as an effective manifestation of underlying tension-like properties.

Rather than introducing new physical laws, the paper examines whether existing mathematical structures—particularly the stress–energy tensor—can support an alternative interpretive framework. A state-based conceptual formalization is introduced to describe spacetime behavior in terms of equilibrium, deformation, and extreme regimes.

The framework is further examined through thought experiments and analogies, highlighting connections to continuum mechanics and emergent spacetime approaches. While remaining fully consistent with general relativity, the work aims to provide a structured conceptual bridge between geometric and physical interpretations of spacetime.

A clearly separated appendix presents speculative extensions involving hypothetical field interactions and extreme spacetime conditions. These extensions are not proposed as physical models but are included to explore conceptual boundaries and potential directions for future research.
