contents
The third issue of the SPIN-FERT Newsletter presents an intensive, highly visible phase of project activities during the second half of 2025, highlighting the consortium’s strong engagement in advancing soil health, sustainable horticulture, and circular, bio-based solutions across Europe. The newsletter documents a broad spectrum of scientific dissemination, stakeholder interaction, and public outreach, including major international conferences such as BAGECO 2025 and EUROSOIL 2025, industry events, field demonstrations, and policy-relevant forums. A distinctive feature of this period is the expanded role of art–science integration, particularly through the Breath of Soil – Memory Nexus initiative, which continues to foster soil literacy and emotional engagement through participatory, multisensory experiences. The issue also reflects progress in research on biostimulants, peat-free substrates, soil microbiomes, and innovative technologies such as encapsulation and AI-supported soil assessment. Strengthened collaboration with related Mission Soil projects further amplifies SPIN-FERT’s impact. Overall, the newsletter demonstrates the project’s capacity to bridge research, practice, culture, and society in support of resilient agri-food systems and healthy soils.
