| contents | <p class="MsoNormal"><span>This introduction presents the concept of law as a set of general and abstract rules that regulate individuals’ behavior in society and are binding upon them, established by a competent authority to achieve order and justice. It also explains the concept of a right as an interest or power recognized and protected by law, enabling its holder to obtain a benefit or prevent harm. It further highlights the relationship between law and rights, as a right is considered a product of law and cannot be conceived or exercised outside the framework of legal rules that regulate and protect it , in addition to explaining legal persons, whether natural or juridical. It also discusses the application of law in terms of time and place, and methods of interpretation in cases of ambiguity. This introduction contributes to building a foundational knowledge that enables students to understand other branches of law.
