contents
Cardiometabolic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes mellitus remain major public health challenges. Foot exercise is a simple, low-cost, and practical intervention that may help prevent and control these risk factors. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of foot exercise in reducing blood pressure and blood glucose levels, as well as its association with Body Mass Index (BMI). A pre–post intervention design was applied, incorporating health education and supervised foot exercise within the community. The results demonstrated significant reductions in systolic and diastolic blood pressure and blood glucose levels following the intervention, while BMI showed no significant changes. A positive correlation was observed between blood pressure and blood glucose, but not with BMI. Foot exercise can serve as a community-based intervention to reduce blood pressure and blood glucose. For more effective outcomes, particularly in lowering BMI, long-term interventions combined with nutrition education and lifestyle modification are recommended
