•
This paper introduces the theory of Metric Topological Relaxation (MTR). We propose that black holes (BHs) function as topological "sinks" where localized standing waves of space-time (quanta of matter) undergo a process of smoothing into a non-localized vacuum state. By applying the Lagrangian formalism to this relaxation process, we analytically derive the cosmological coupling coefficient k ≈ 3. This result provides a theoretical foundation for recent observational data (Farrah et al., 2023) suggesting that black holes are the astrophysical source of dark energy.
