-
This project presents the design and development of a long-endurance tilt-rotor fixed-wing e-VTOL Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) capable of vertical take-off and landing like a helicopter while achieving efficient forward flight like a conventional aircraft. The primary objective is to create a lightweight, aero- dynamically optimised platform suitable for medium-altitude surveillance missions requiring extended flight duration, operational flexibility, and high reliability. By integrating the hovering stability of a multirotor with the aerodynamic efficiency of a fixed-wing configuration, the proposed UAV enables seamless and safe transition between flight modes. The design strategy emphasises endurance enhancement, structural weight reduction, efficient propulsion, and stability during mode switching. This review analyses key aspects, including hybrid aerodynamic behaviour, tilt-rotor mechanisms, structural design considerations, and control challenges associated with e-VTOL systems. The overall scope contributes toward developing a versatile UAV system capable of stable flight performance, reliable mission execution, and improved operational capability across diverse surveillance environments.
