The empirical strategy combines instrumental-variable and marginal treatment effect methods to identify saved-jobs effects and windfall effects across firms with heterogeneous take-up of the program.

Contents. The package includes three Stata do-files (a master script, a data-construction script, and an analysis script), nine publicly available auxiliary datasets (French public holidays, INSEE aggregate employment series, commune and zone d'emploi crosswalks, NAF industry classification, Sirene establishment register, BODACC commercial announcements, and Eurostat NUTS-3 shapefile), a
README.pdf
providing detailed instructions and the full data and code availability statement.

Confidential data. The analysis additionally relies on confidential French administrative datasets that cannot be redistributed and are therefore not included in this package: the BTS-Établissements / DADS-ETS, FICUS, and FARE files produced by INSEE, and the AGLAE-Sinapse short-time work records and DIRECCTE personnel files produced by DARES (French Ministry of Labour). These datasets are accessible to qualified researchers through the Confidential Data Access Portal (CDAP) and the Centre d'Accès Sécurisé aux Données (CASD).
