  • <p>Title: Bridging the Healthcare Gap: A Community-Based Intervention to Combat Hepatitis B & C Viral Infections in Ussa Local Government, Taraba State  </p> <p>Summary: This research presents the outcomes of a grassroots public health intervention addressing the critical burden of Hepatitis B (HBV) and Hepatitis C (HCV) in Ussa LGA, Nigeria. In a region where HBV and HCV prevalence has surged by 17% and 47% respectively, this project implemented a multi-stakeholder framework to bridge gaps in awareness, screening, and clinical linkage.  </p> <p>The study details a "Hub-and-Spoke" community engagement model that successfully screened 1,200 individuals, enlisting 1,042 non-reactive participants for vaccination and referring 151 reactive cases for advanced clinical management at General Hospital, Takum. By documenting strategic partnerships with the Centre for Initiative and Development (CFID) and local government stakeholders, this work provides a scalable blueprint for institutionalizing hepatitis prevention and reducing the disease burden in underserved rural ecosystems.  </p>
