contents
We present CORTEX, a bioinspired spike-based neurocomputational platform designed from the ground up for accessibility and real-world use. CORTEX implements key structures of the biological cortex without relying on conventional deep-learning frameworks, and integrates consumer-grade wearable EEG as a deliberate design choice — not a compromise. The system demonstrates: successful BCI thought-to-memory recall from a wearable 4-channel EEG device; autonomous nightly consolidation cycles analogous to NREM sleep; inter-subject cognitive pattern discrimination; and measurable energy savings through a novel resonant neuron model. CORTEX is built on the principle that understanding the human brain should be accessible to everyone — not confined to specialized laboratories or expensive hardware. All results are documented with timestamped logs and reproducible experimental protocols on consumer hardware.
